As AOC Shows She Can Think for Herself, Is “The Squad” Over?

With crowds in NYC gathering to celebrate Hamas and rally behind Palestine, many looked to our elected officials for their response to the invasion of Israel. These horrific and violent actions struck into the hearts of people the world over, and surprisingly much of the silence came from the often-outspoken group called “The Squad.” Made up of non-white and non-conservative younger politicians, many consider them to have a real pulse on the situation around the globe.

Now with their strongest backer the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) alongside the Black Lives Matter (BLM) organizers and supporting Hamas and Palestine at these rallies, many expect them to finally comment. Now in a Politico article on October 10th, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) proved she can stand on her own two feet. Calling it “unacceptable and harmful” the article attempted to insist she gave the remarks the night before on the 9th.

“It should not be hard to shut down hatred and antisemitism where we see it. That is a core tenet of solidarity. The bigotry and callousness expressed in Times Square on Sunday were unacceptable and harmful in this devastating moment. It also did not speak for the thousands of New Yorkers who are capable of rejecting both Hamas’ horrifying attacks against innocent civilians as well as the grave injustices and violence Palestinians face under occupation.”

While multiple outlets covered the silence of AOC and other members backed by DSA, they refused any requests for comment. Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) all ordered their staff and representatives to keep quiet on the case too. Eventually, all but Tlaib condemned the attacks.

Instead, Tlaib issued a statement standing firmly against Israel. “The path to that future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance. As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue.”

The odd thing about the entire situation is part of the Politico article where the DSA backed away from any ownership of the event. Instead, they claimed to not be running it, they just gave it some promotion. From the verbiage on the flier directing people to come and stand with them, to be united as one, that’s clearly an endorsement of the message. They are behind it, and no organization is going to back something this polarizing if they are not buying in on it as well.

Even the national DSA account on X promoted their love and admiration for Palestine. There is no mistaking the way they see the subject, and where they are placing the blame. Clearly, Tlaib has her priorities disorganized. Despite decrying her past and being happy for a shot at the American dream, she quickly forgot about all of that. Instead, she jumped right back on the very bandwagon she claimed to escape.

With AOC taking the high road on her own, and first (allegedly) this could be a sign that “The Squad” is “The Gone.” It’s honestly about time too. This group has done nothing but try and shove the big rubbery liberal agenda down the throats of Americans. As a nation, we do not need it, nor are we even ready for it if we did. Instead, we need people who were elected to best represent the voices of their constituents, and not just their party.

Horrendous far-left liberals like these are consistently trying to poison the American mind and destroy the framework our nation has worked so long to build up. Getting AOC to break off from the rest to stand with conservatives is the first sign that we can wear them down. We can get them to talk like sensible people, and actually come to the table and not just refuse any idea but their own.
