Of Course, Biden Pays Women Less

Remember when Joe Biden said he would fix the “pay gap” between men and women in the United States? Well, as it turns out, his female staffers make a full 20 percent less than their male counterparts.

Yep, you read that right. Biden is guilty of the same “sexist” pay schemes he claims he’s trying to eliminate.

Proof of this comes from a Monday report from The Wall Street Journal, which recently looked closely at the White House payroll under Joe Biden. Journal author and American Enterprise Institute scholar Mark Perry noted that for every dollar male staffers earn at the White House, women working only make 80 cents.

“The median man on Mr. Biden’s staff earns $105,000, while the median woman gets only $84,000.”

Of course, there is a legitimate reason why this is the case for most women, both in and out of the White House.

As the Journal noted, it’s called the “composition effect.” Basically, it has to do with the fact that most men currently employed at the White House had more experience going in or a higher standing, thus amounting to higher pay. “More women have come in at entry-level positions than men… So naturally, the men will be getting paid more.”

To Biden’s credit, it’s easy to see why this “composition effect” has legitimacy. Despite what the progressive business model and affirmative action would like to imply, merit does mean something. If someone has more experience, a higher degree, etc., they should and usually do get paid more for such than someone with those accomplishments.

And in the case of Biden’s White House, more men have those higher accomplishments than women.

Of course, this is the very same argument that those like Biden and his administration like to ignore when it comes to the “pay gap” outside of the White House.

For example, the White House’s own website claimed that full-time working women in the US, on average, make “just 83 cents for every dollar paid to a man.” But again, by and large, those women held lower paying positions, had a lesser degree, or fewer years of experience.

It’s all just more proof of the hypocrisy and double standard the political left keeps on hand.
