Trump Names ‘Leader of the Coup’ in Explosive Allegations

President Donald Trump dropped a political nuke on Tuesday, claiming that former President Barack Obama directly ordered what he called a “treasonous conspiracy” to rig both the 2016 and 2020 elections. Speaking to reporters from the White House, Trump cited newly released evidence from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s report, which he says confirms the long-suspected plot.
According to Trump, the conspiracy was not just a vague partisan effort—it was led from the very top.
“They caught President Obama absolutely cold,” Trump declared. “It’s not a group—it’s Obama. His orders are on the paper. The papers are signed. The papers came right out of their office.”
He continued, “The leader of the gang was President Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. He’s guilty. This was treason. This was every word you could think of.”
The president went on to name names: former FBI Director James Comey, former DNI James Clapper, and ex-CIA Director John Brennan. All of them, he said, were in the room—planning what he described as a criminal effort to interfere in the 2016 and 2020 elections.
“These weren’t just meetings. They tried to rig the election. And they got caught,” Trump said. “There should be very severe consequences for that.”
Trump also addressed past leniency, referencing Hillary Clinton and saying he once held back out of respect for her position. But now, after what he endured, he says it’s time for action.
“You know when we caught Hillary Clinton, I said, ‘Let’s not go too far.’ But it’s time to go after people,” he said.
The president revealed that much of the evidence had been classified—until now. “What they did in 2016 and in 2020 is very criminal. It’s criminal at the highest level,” he said.
He also referenced what some are calling the “autopen connection”—suggesting that even minute procedural elements tie back to the same conspirators.
“This is proof, irrefutable proof, that Obama was trying to lead a coup,” Trump asserted. “It all started with the same sick minds.”
Though critics will surely question the interpretation of the evidence, Trump made clear that he views this as not just political interference—but outright treason. He called it the “biggest scandal in the history of our country.”
The bombshell adds fuel to an already raging firestorm over the Obama-era intelligence community’s role in investigating Trump’s 2016 campaign. Gabbard’s report appears to have given the president what he sees as the smoking gun—and he’s not waiting for history books to tell the story.
Whether DOJ prosecutions follow remains to be seen, but Trump’s message was loud and clear: he wants accountability at the highest level. And he’s not afraid to say who he thinks should face the consequences.
