Comey Case Takes A Sudden Turn — Plus The Truth About The “Burn Bags”

A judge tossed the case against former FBI Director James Comey for technical reasons. The ruling stated that the appointment of interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan who had filed the matter was invalid. So it wasn’t a ruling on the merits of the case and it was dismissed without prejudice so it could potentially be filed again although there’s a potential question about the statute of limitations.

The Justice Department has already indicated that it would appeal that decision. So Comey should not be taking that victory lap just yet because it surely sounds like more is coming.

FBI Director Kash Patel also made some intriguing statements during an interview with the Epoch Times. He said that while the DOJ might be pursuing the appeal they also had numerous options to proceed and we’re executing on all those options.

“So we’re not done. I would say stay tuned for right after Thanksgiving, and you’ll see multiple responses, in my opinion.”

That sounds good. That certainly sounds like he has more than just the one case as an option. He does seem confident about what he has.

That wasn’t all. Patel had more juicy news about those burn bags.

At the end of July there was stunning news that they found a room at the FBI with the bags which had Russia probe documents in them. That raised a lot of questions as to what might be in those documents. Patel said all of that information is going to come out so that we will be able to see it.

“You’re going to see everything we found in that room, in one way or another, be it through investigation, public trial, or disclosure to the Congress.”

Patel continued explaining the significance.

“It is the single largest weaponization, politicization of law enforcement against America, and specifically targeting a political party, because the institutional elite in Washington, D.C., didn’t like them and didn’t want them to win. The American public deserves to have not only accountability but reform to make sure that never happens.”

The technical dismissal of the case means the government still has options to pursue charges. The without prejudice designation leaves the door open for refiling with a properly appointed prosecutor.

The Justice Department’s quick announcement of an appeal shows they have no intention of letting this matter drop. They believe the judge was wrong on the appointment issue and intend to fight.

Patel’s statement about multiple options suggests the government may have additional avenues beyond just the appeal. There could be other charges or approaches that don’t rely on Halligan’s appointment.

His confidence about what happens after Thanksgiving indicates something significant is planned. The timing suggests announcements or actions could come as soon as this week.

The burn bags discovery represents potentially explosive evidence about the Russia investigation. These bags are typically used to destroy classified or sensitive documents that need to be kept from public view.

Finding them in a room at FBI headquarters with Russia probe documents raises obvious questions about what the FBI was trying to hide. Were these documents that would have exonerated Trump or exposed wrongdoing by the investigators.

Patel’s promise that everything found in that room will be made public one way or another ensures this information will eventually see the light of day. Whether through investigation, trial or congressional disclosure the American people will learn what was in those bags.

His description of the Russia investigation as the single largest weaponization of law enforcement in American history reflects the view of many conservatives. They see it as a politically motivated witch hunt designed to take down a duly elected president.

The institutional elite in Washington that Patel references includes not just FBI officials but the broader intelligence community and Democratic establishment that opposed Trump from the beginning.

Comey’s role in launching and perpetuating the Russia investigation made him a central figure in what many consider an attempted coup. His leaking of memos to trigger the special counsel appointment was just one example of his alleged misconduct.

The fact that documents related to the investigation were in burn bags suggests a coverup. Why else would the FBI be preparing to destroy evidence unless they wanted to hide wrongdoing.
