AOC 2028: A Campaign So DOOMED, Even the Memes Are Already Written
Oh, dear lord, save us all. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is rumored to be eyeing the 2028 presidential election, and the internet is already losing its mind as if we haven’t seen this movie before.
According to The Hill, AOC’s name “always bubbles to the top” when Democrats talk about their future leader. Who exactly is bubbling this idea? Because from where we’re sitting, it looks like a sinking ship. One leftist strategist even dared to claim that Ocasio-Cortez has impressed her fellow Democrats with her ability to cut through the “BS” and “tell it like it is.” Sure, we’ve all seen the “telling it like it is” part, and it mostly involves social media rants that make you want to bang your head against a wall.
Of course, social media exploded with mockery. Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, ever the comedian, joked, “Alex has told people she’s running in 2028 since 2019.” Yeah, we get it. It’s a tired narrative at this point, and it’s no surprise that AOC’s claims of future grandeur were met with more eye-rolls than applause.
As if that wasn’t enough, the memes practically wrote themselves. One user posted AOC’s infamous crying photo at the border, with a Trump-Vance sign photoshopped into the shot because nothing says “presidential material” like crying for the camera. Another user created an AI image of Ocasio-Cortez as a swampy comic villain and Vance as Captain America. Predictable, right?
Even podcast host Alec Lace got in on the action, reminding everyone how AOC’s endorsement of Rep. Jamaal Bowman did absolutely nothing to save him from getting the boot in his primary. Ouch.
Behind the scenes, a second Democrat strategist also weighed in, saying AOC and her “Squad” are far too controversial. Apparently, they moved too fast, too hard—something about the D.C. slow lane not being their style.
If she does run, we can only hope it turns out like Kamala Harris’s failed 2020 campaign—an expensive disaster that burns out before the primaries even get started.
