New Mexico Governor So Far Off Target Even David Hogg Is Correcting Her

Issued on September 8th, New Mexico’s Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and latest anti-gun order lacks any common sense in how it was written or applied. A 30-day “public health” ban on handguns being carried concealed or openly out in public was instituted as her way of responding to an 11-year-old girl being gunned down.

Now in response to that, everyone is using their voice. Parkland school shooting survivor David Hogg has spent every moment he could find to rally against guns since that fateful day. While much of his rhetoric comes out with a message telling people that guns are the root cause of all evil, it seems even he can’t back Grisham.

Taking to X (aka Twitter), he issued a simple response to her measure. “I support gun safety but there is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution.”

Now this doesn’t mean Hogg can be trusted or that he’s switching sides. Rather, it means he might just be one of the very few leftists who are not only willing but able to listen to counterpoints. Someone who can consider that guns don’t kill, but people do. A way to get the message through to the left that these kinds of “laws” don’t mean anything to the criminals they are designed to stop.

Joining him in speaking out against this absurdity is Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman. Just a day later, on September 9th, he announced, “As an officer of the court, I cannot and will not enforce something that is clearly unconstitutional. This office will continue to focus on criminals of any age that use guns in the commission of a crime.”

A governor doing this is just sickening. To the people of New Mexico, it’s time to rally the troops and get her out of office. She is violating federal law and is showing signs of mental impairment with this measure. Time to put her out to pasture.
